Loma Linda University Health and Beaver Medical Group Jointly Announce Settlement

LOMA LINDA, Calif. & REDLANDS, Calif.--()--Dr. Richard Hart, President of Loma Linda University Health, and Dr. Richard Hill, President of Beaver Medical Group, issued the following joint statement:

Loma Linda University Health (Loma Linda) and Beaver Medical Group (Beaver), with its management company EPIC Management (EPIC), are pleased to announce a settlement of the disputes between us that arose out of Loma Linda's 2009 acquisition of a minority interest in EPIC and an interest in EPIC's corporate general partner, EPIIC Management ("EPIIC"). Under the terms of the confidential settlement agreement, Loma Linda's interest in EPIC and EPIIC have been redeemed. Additionally, the parties have ended any shared governance of EPIC, EPIIC and any Loma Linda affiliates. The resolution will allow Loma Linda, Beaver, EPIC and EPIIC to pursue opportunities to develop health care networks and new alliances and pursue other services independently of each other and without any restrictions that might have arisen from their prior affiliation.

Loma Linda, Beaver and EPIC are pleased to put this dispute behind them, and to focus on existing and potential future collaborations with the goal being to improve patient care throughout the Inland Empire."
