MIDDLETOWN, R.I.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Embrace Home Loans, a prominent leader in the mortgage industry, celebrates the second year anniversary of its donation-based charity program, Wear for CareTM. In 2016, employees of Embrace Home Loans donated a total of $27,930 through Wear for CareTM, $6,100 of which was donated between the months October and December.
“We had a phenomenal turnout in 2016, and in 2017 we hope to extend our accounting of Wear for CareTM donation dollars to our growing number of retail branches. This will allow us to continue to grow in our giving and contribute to causes we value.”
Wear for CareTM is Embrace Home Loans’ initiative in which funds are raised on a daily basis by allowing employees to wear jeans for a day, provided they make a minimum $2 donation. Embrace Home Loans’ marketing department created Wear for CareTM during a company innovation meeting. Without permission, rules or policies, the department developed and ran a pilot, which went viral. Now, all employees are able to participate and raise money for people as well as organizations they are passionate about, and this program has now been introduced to Embrace’s real estate agent and builder partners.
Within the Wear for CareTM program, each individual employee, team or department that participates can choose who, what, when and how they want to make their donations. While some employees donate to animal shelters, others may give toward a colleague’s family member who is battling illness. Many employees at Embrace Home Loans choose to contribute to local homeless shelters, and some employees have donated to help Veterans within their communities. Wear for CareTM puts the power in the employee’s hand to contribute to a cause that matters to them personally, and because of this, Embrace Home Loans has seen active participation rates over the past two years.
“By employees’ generosity and sharing through Wear for CareTM, the Embrace Home Loans family helps those in need while team members enjoy the freedom of wearing jeans for the day. It has proven to be a program of giving with both extrinsic and intrinsic motivators,” said Jennifer O’Neil, Communications Director at Embrace Home Loans. “We had a phenomenal turnout in 2016, and in 2017 we hope to extend our accounting of Wear for CareTM donation dollars to our growing number of retail branches. This will allow us to continue to grow in our giving and contribute to causes we value.”
Embrace Home Loans participates in many charitable endeavors, Wear for CareTM included. In 2016, each department or team donated baskets of food to families in need at Thanksgiving and Christmas. The company also created Embrace Cares, a program that allows local branches to support causes they care about and provides the opportunity to work face-to-face with people in the community who need it the most. Embrace Home Loans has been recognized as the Most Community Involved Company in Rhode Island by Providence Business News.
