The Modist is a fashion hub and shopping platform for the modern cosmopolitan woman who is an empowered and style savvy digital native, looking for more ‘modest’ fashion alternatives. TheModist.com showcases multi-brand luxury collections that have been expertly curated with looks, layers, cuts and collections that will allow consumers to express their individuality through fashion and style, yet remain true to the values of personal modesty that define them.
Guenez’s career path merges high finance with high fashion. Prior to founding The Modist, she was a director at Abraaj Capital for 14 years. Guenez has appointed a leadership team that includes Lisa Bridgett, Chief Operating Officer and Sasha Sarokin, Director of Fashion and Buying; both who join The Modist from NET-A-PORTER.
TheModist.com website was created by BORN Group—a fast-growing global agency that combines creative design, content production and ecommerce implementation services—after a lengthy agency selection process. The complex, multinational, multi-currency site build was led by technology practice lead, Olivia Yuan, and technical project manager, Caroline Krafchek with a team spanning Dubai, the United Kingdom, United States, Germany and India. The first phase of TheModist.com site functionality allows consumers to browse the site in the English language and make a purchase using 3 different currencies (USD, GBP, EUR). Work has already begun to rapidly expand languages and currencies on its platform over the coming months, starting with Arabic and the UAE Dirham.
