DALLAS--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--After four successful years in Houston, Franchise Expo South relocated to Dallas’ Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center to dive into a hot hub of economic and population expansion. Recognized by the Small Business Index as the second-fastest growing metro area in the United States, Dallas proved to be a favorable market for franchising with more than 200 brands exhibiting and nearly 8,000 in attendance from 45 states and 36 countries.
“We had a ton of foot traffic at our booth, collected many strong leads, and recently awarded a franchise to one of them.”
Nearly 79 percent of Franchise Expo South attendees were interested in purchasing a franchise and more than 32 percent of attendees planned to invest between $100,000 and $499,999. Many found Franchise Expo South to be the perfect platform to meet face-to-face with high-level executives from franchise brands and launch their journey into entrepreneurship.
“As a new franchisor, we received tremendous support from the entire Franchise Expo South team,” said Amyn Bandali, partner of Ivy Kids Early Learning Center. “We had a ton of foot traffic at our booth, collected many strong leads, and recently awarded a franchise to one of them.”
Expo-goers had the opportunity to delve into an event designed to energize and further educate their entrepreneurial spirits. Attendees were able to explore more than 60 free seminars and six in-depth workshops in addition to one-on-one consulting, financial advising and notable small business speakers. This year’s event also offered an inside look into the hottest trends in the franchise industry – ranging from restaurants and fitness clubs to auto repairs and pet supply stores – at every investment level ranging from as little as $5,000 to up to $1 million+.
The franchise industry outlook remains positive for 2017, according to the International Franchise Association’s annual Franchise Business Economic Outlook report. The report finds the industry significantly outpaced the U.S. economy in 2016 and projects a similarly strong performance in 2017 with an expected 3.3 percent franchise employment growth, 1.6 percent franchise establishment growth, and a 5.3 percent growth in franchise output.
“Mirroring this steady growth is the increasing quality of franchisors participating in trade shows to strategically grow their system,” said Tom Portesy, president of MFV Expositions, producers of Franchise Expo South. “Franchise expos draw qualified attendees ranging from recent college grads to retirees looking to get back into the business world. These expos truly cover all ends of the spectrum –from out-of-the-box, niche franchises to well-known, global brands. Each year, franchise expos have proven to be a life-changing event for prospective investors looking for a new business path.”
The next franchise expo, the International Franchise Expo, is set to take place at the Javits Center in New York, June 15-17. For more information, please visit www.ifeinfo.com
