DANBURY, Conn.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Odyssey Logistics & Technology Corporation (Odyssey) announced today that it has posted fourteen consecutive years of growth, with net revenue up eight percent in 2016. The company attributes this year’s results to sustaining its leadership position in complex key markets, implementing operational efficiencies and maximizing benefits from the acquisition of Linden Bulk Transportation.
“Opening a new transload facility in Joliet is an investment in the future of our business and will better serve our metals industry clients. As a part of the CenterPoint Intermodal Center, this new facility provides easy access for flatbed motor carriers bringing metal products into the facility”
“Odyssey continues to offer its customers tailored supply chain solutions that yield savings and a competitive advantage,” said Bob Shellman, president and CEO, Odyssey. “We continue to deliver strategic services that satisfy the increasing needs of our global client base, but we also identify market needs and innovate to solve customer and industry challenges.”
During 2016, Odyssey deployed new technologies, expanded services into new markets and filed for patent protection on new offerings. Odyssey’s European footprint expansion contributed to double digit growth within its managed services business. Additionally, in response to clients’ concerns over future truck capacity, Odyssey completed the acquisition of Linden Bulk Transportation, a leading tank truck operator serving the chemical market. In the technology sector, Odyssey expanded the launch of WIN™, the no-fee transportation management system, and has now signed more than 300 clients.
“Successfully integrating the companies we have acquired and improving operational efficiencies has contributed significantly to the company’s overall growth,” said Cosmo Alberico, chief operating officer and CFO, Odyssey. “These enhancements have resulted in offering our customers competitive transportation solutions that reduce costs and provide value.”
Shellman also added that Odyssey broke ground on the construction of a new 121,680-square-foot metals transload facility in Joliet, Illinois. “Opening a new transload facility in Joliet is an investment in the future of our business and will better serve our metals industry clients. As a part of the CenterPoint Intermodal Center, this new facility provides easy access for flatbed motor carriers bringing metal products into the facility,” said Shellman.
