BEIJING--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--An adorable, small robot that can answer those innumerable ‘why” questions from young children is unveiled at CES by global technology intelligence platform ROOBO.
PuddingBeanQ, scientifically proven to enhance cognitive development, answers questions and interacts with children aged eight and under, recognises and responds to their vocabulary through the use of advanced AI.
It tells stories and poems from an expanding range of online educational resources and teaches children about melody, rhythm, tone, intensity and pitch when it comes to music and singing.
When launched in March 2017, PuddingBeanQ will understand up to 50 languages and is expected to provide bilingual, English and Chinese, communication thanks to the company’s partnership with Nuance, which provides deep learning and data-driven AI to create a conversational interface and encourage human interaction.
PuddingBeanQ has rich, human-like emotions that appeal to young kids and will react to human touch, plus instigates interactive games that encourage movement.
PuddingBeanQ will also correct poor posture through monitoring a child’s gestures, while everyday chitchat encourages good personal hygiene and study habits.
The robot is the latest version of Pudding, the number #1 seller of robotic companions in China based on sales and user feedback. Sales are calculated via the country’s two biggest e-Commerce platforms TMall and JD.com.
Chen Yi, product VP, says, “PuddingBeanQ answers the big, or humorous questions that young children often ask, such as why the sky is blue, or whether the moon is really made of cheese, thanks to ROOBO’s intelligent technology. PuddingBeanQ is an educational buddy that can help cognitive development and better encourage young children to be proactive learners and discover new knowledge through joyful play.”
