PHOENIX--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Viad Corp (NYSE: VVI) announced today that its 135-room Mount Royal Hotel in downtown Banff, Canada was evacuated yesterday due to a fire and is now closed until further notice. All guests and employees were evacuated without harm.
Steve Moster, Viad's president and chief executive officer, said "We are grateful that all guests and employees of the hotel were unharmed and I am very thankful to our crisis management team for their successful efforts. We are working with authorities and our insurance carriers to assess the extent of the damage and the remediation that will be required to re-open the hotel.
