eyeson is a smart conferencing platform providing Slack teams with online meeting rooms. Team members can meet in real-time and collaborate face-to-face, via screencasts or chat.
What differentiates eyeson from other video conferencing tools, is its Single Stream Technology. Traditional video conferencing is notorious for being very resource intensive. As the number of participants increases, most tools end up using a lot of bandwidth, become very CPU intensive and compromise on video and audio quality. Thanks to their Single Stream Technology, eyeson meeting rooms are not affected by the number of participants and therefore use significantly less bandwidth and benefit from a high video and audio quality.
Besides an unlimited number of active participants, eyeson built a video podium for up to nine people and thanks to Single Stream Technology, the video quality remains HD while the required bandwidth is less than 2 Mbit/sec up/download per client. Most other tools limit participants to 15 and a video podium of up to four people. eyeson meeting room for early birds will roll out in January 2017 and offers one-to-one and group video calls, chat and screen sharing for Slack team members.
Very handy is the guest login, a feature enabling Slack teams to invite a non-Slack-team member into the meeting room. Teams can expand their collaboration beyond Slack borders.
A set of test teams is working with additional features such as live slide presentations and recording. By the end of February Slack users are able to profit from all eyeson meeting room features. Another significant benefit is that eyeson offers the option to record video meetings and replays a live transcript of all activities to Slack.
This way team mates who haven’t joined the room stay informed, can read the chat, and see what slides are being presented without ever leaving Slack.
