PHILADELPHIA--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Brandywine Global Investment Management, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Legg Mason, Inc. (NYSE: LM), announced today it was named a Best Place to Work in Money Management for 2016 by Pensions & Investments, the global news source of money management.
“Beyond competitive salaries and benefits, we aim to find unique ways to reward our employees”
Presented by Pensions & Investments, the fifth-annual survey and recognition program is dedicated to identifying and recognizing the best employers in the money management industry. Brandywine Global’s award marks the second time the firm has been recognized by Pensions & Investments as a Best Place to Work among managers with 100 to 499 employees.
“Our employees are the best in the industry,” says Managing Partner Adam Spector. “As a company, we work hard to make sure they know it.”
“Again this year, it is clear that what makes firms great employers isn't necessarily about salaries. Many firms were cited for their culture and benefits,” says P&I Editor Amy B. Resnick. “Employees at these top-ranked firms most often cited their colleagues, the firm’s culture and the benefits as the things that make it a great place to work.”
“Beyond competitive salaries and benefits, we aim to find unique ways to reward our employees,” Spector says. “In July and again in October, when Philadelphia’s public transit system was hit with major disruptions, we wanted to help our employees cope with massively increased commute times. We offered free food, therapeutic massages, and increased flexibility. We are in a people-intensive business, and our superior investment results stem from our ability to attract and retain the best talent in the industry.”
Pensions & Investments partnered with Best Companies Group, an independent research firm specializing in identifying great places to work, to conduct a two-part survey of employers and their employees.
The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies.
