WASHINGTON--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--In the past few months, Phone2Action, the leading digital advocacy platform, has received more than six industry recognitions for its innovative technology, company growth and achievements of cofounders Jeb Ory and Dr. Ximena Hartsock. Most recently, Phone2Action was named one of DC Inno’s 2016 50 on Fire, a recognition that celebrates and recognizes the inventors, disruptors, luminaries and newsmakers across Washington D.C.'s top industries.
“When we started Phone2Action in 2012, digital advocacy was still in its infancy. Nonprofits and advocacy groups were beginning to realize the potential of a mobile-first strategy, but there were few tools available to help them achieve their engagement goals”
Phone2Action has also recently been included in CB Insights’ 2016 list of 21 Nonprofit and Charity Tech Startups to Watch, as well as Trending 40’s 2016 list of Red Hot Companies, which celebrates the top talent in Washington D.C.’s technology, legal, association and corporate communities.
“When we started Phone2Action in 2012, digital advocacy was still in its infancy. Nonprofits and advocacy groups were beginning to realize the potential of a mobile-first strategy, but there were few tools available to help them achieve their engagement goals,” said Ory. “Since that time we have been able to help hundreds of organizations close the engagement gap – via some of the most innovative technology available – and connect with their peers and lawmakers across multiple communications platforms. I am proud of our accomplishments and look forward to continuing our momentum in 2017.”
In addition to company awards, cofounder Dr. Ximena Hartsock has received several individual honors, including being named to Washington Business Journal’s Power 100 list, a compilation of the most influential or newsmaker business leaders who moved something forward or made headlines in 2016. She was also named an Entrepreneur of the Year finalist for Technical.ly’s 2016 DC Innovation Awards and 2016’s Best Latino(a) Tech Founder or Co-Founder by Latinos in Social Media (LATISM).
Awards were not the only growth indicator for Phone2Action in 2016. In October, the company launched The Civic Action Center, a new voter turnout tool that helped Phone2Action customers engage thousands of employees, members and stakeholders in the 2016 election. In July, Phone2Action secured $4.62M in Series A venture capital funding and brought on a variety of new customers including Oldcastle Materials, Shatterproof and Doctors Without Borders. The company also doubled its staff, moved its headquarters to Virginia thanks to a new incentive program offered by Gov. Terry McAuliffe and saw its international footprint increase to include four continents, 10 countries and all 50 states.
“While 2016 has been an incredible year for Phone2Action, we understand that we still have a tremendous amount of work ahead of us in 2017,” said Hartsock. “Given the volatility of our current political landscape, citizens everywhere will need immediate access to their lawmakers and we must be there to provide it.”
Phone2Action is a comprehensive digital advocacy and communications platform that directly powers social movements by connecting users to lawmakers via technology. For more information please visit: www.phone2action.com.
