LITTLE ROCK, Ark.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Stephens Inc., an independent, full-service investment banking firm, recently completed a formal alignment of its Institutional Equities division comprising research, sales, sales trading and trading; and announced a series of related promotions and hires. The new organizational structure reflects Stephens’ long-term growth initiatives within Institutional Equities and increasing competitive position in New York and other major markets.

Nik Fisken was named EVP and Head of Institutional Equities, and will lead all four departments. Fisken will retain his role as Director of Research. He joined the firm in 1994 and also serves as Chairman of the Equity Dealers of America.

Additional Institutional Equities appointments include:
- Louis Wilson was promoted to Producing Sales Manager and will be based in Little Rock after 12-years in Stephens’ Chicago office. Wilson will continue to lead the firm’s Midwest team.
- Anthony Pignio was promoted to Producing Head of Equity Trading. Pignio joined Stephens’ New York office in 2013 following sales and trading positions at Lazard Capital Markets and Cowen and Company. He will relocate to Little Rock.
- David Hagen joined Stephens on December 2nd as Managing Director and Head of New York and Mid-Atlantic Sales. Prior to, he was a partner with William Blair in the equity sales division. Hagen has also held equity sales roles at Thomas Wiesel Partners and Lehman Brothers. He is based in New York.
- Michael Conte will continue on as Head of Sales Trading, leading a New York team that has more than tripled since his hire in 2013. Previously, Conte served as Managing Director, Co-Head of Sales Trading at Lazard Capital Markets.
Stephens’ Institutional Equities group totals more than 150 employees in 10 locations across the U.S. Over the past five years, Equity Research grew its senior analyst count by 80+% to 33 and companies under coverage increased over 90% to 525. In Institutional Sales and Trading, headcount has grown by more than 60% with more hires expected.
