LONDON--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--In line with its increased focus on the UK market, Northern Trust Asset Management has hired Rosina Barnett into the newly created role of head of UK consultant relations.
“The UK market is a strategic focus for Northern Trust Asset Management and Rosina’s appointment recognizes the important role that investment consultants play in this market”
Based in London, Barnett is focused on developing and broadening relationships with investment consultants with particular emphasis on factor investing, environmental, social and governance (ESG) investing, liquidity solutions and custom passive exposures.
Prior to joining Northern Trust, Barnett worked at Fidelity International and BlackRock as a consultant relations director. She has also worked at Legal & General Investment Management and has more than 15 years of asset management experience.
“The UK market is a strategic focus for Northern Trust Asset Management and Rosina’s appointment recognizes the important role that investment consultants play in this market,” said Hazel McNeilage, managing director for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), at Northern Trust Asset Management.
“We are seeing both ESG and factor investing growing in importance for UK pension funds – areas where Northern Trust has significant expertise. Rosina’s knowledge and expertise as well as those of our broader team will be invaluable as we deliver these and other solutions to UK institutional investors and their consultants,” added McNeilage.
Northern Trust Asset Management began expanding its UK focused team earlier this year with the appointment of Aaron Overy to a senior institutional sales role. The asset manager offers its clients in EMEA a broad range of investment management capabilities, across equities, fixed interest and cash management. This includes Engineered Equity, Northern Trust’s approach to factor-based investing and strategies incorporating ESG principles, as well as more traditional index management. Capabilities are available through both commingled funds and segregated accounts, with a focus on designing investment strategies to meet the individual needs of investors.
