PITTSBURGH--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Evoqua Water Technologies has been selected by six communities to supply tertiary filtration rehab services through its DAVCO™ product line for wastewater treatment plants in Texas, Alabama and Florida.
Each of the projects have improved the performance of existing equipment at the facilities while saving capital costs. Evoqua’s DAVCO product and service team provided thorough equipment evaluations and recommended best options to restore operating efficiency, extend useful life or upgrade to a more advanced technology. Dallas-based Environmental Improvements, Inc., Winter Park-based Heyward Florida Incorporated, and Atlanta-based Heyward Incorporated helped secure the contracts as Evoqua’s manufacturers’ representatives.
Cypress, Texas - Traveling bridge filter rehabilitation
Remington MUD in Cypress, Texas selected Evoqua’s DAVCO™ Field Services team to rehabilitate two existing Gravisand® Traveling Bridge filters. This turnkey project included the cleaning of existing underdrains and the installation of new bridges and components. Start-up was approximately four months ago.
San Marcos, Texas WWTP - Traveling bridge filter rehabilitation
San Marcos WWTP, operated by engineering firm CH2M, subcontracted with Evoqua to rehabilitate three 76’x16’ traveling bridge filters. The project included removal and replacement of all media, demolition of existing underdrains and installation of new tubular underdrains, installation of new influent slide gates and commissioning. The San Marcos plant treats 9 MGD per day and serves more than 42,000 residents.
Clearwater, Florida - Sand filter update
The City of Clearwater recently updated six Hydro-Clear® Sand Filters at its East Water Reclamation Facility. Evoqua’s DAVCO service team provided equipment and services including new underdrain assemblies, backwash troughs, air diffusers, control system programing, media replacement and commissioning services. The new equipment has been in successful operation for approximately 4 months.
North Texas Municipal Water District (MWD) - Traveling bridge filter rehabilitation
North Texas MWD selected Evoqua for the rehabilitation of traveling bridge filters at its Floyd Branch Regional WWTP in Richardson and Buffalo Creek WWTP in Rockwall. Evoqua’s DAVCO service team provided a complete turnkey rehabilitation solution including engineering, demolition and installation of a tubular underdrain system, bridge assemblies, pumps, control panels, media replacement, and commissioning services.
Lincoln, Alabama - Traveling bridge filter rehabilitation
The City of Lincoln chose Evoqua to rehabilitate two aging traveling bridge filters at its municipal wastewater treatment plant. The DAVCO field service and installation team provided the cleaning of all underdrains, realignment of the bridge assemblies, complete media replacement services and start-up.
