DENVER--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Nancy Phillips, President and CEO of ViaWest, has been named the winner of the Gold Stevie® Award in the Female Entrepreneur of the Year - Business Products category in the 13th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business.
“Each year we think the quality of achievements portrayed in Stevie-winning nominations couldn’t possibly get any better, and each year the amazing women who are recognized in this program prove us wrong”
A 30-year veteran of the telecommunications and infrastructure industry, Phillips has spearheaded an aggressive and industry-leading growth path for ViaWest since taking the helm in 2012. Over the past year, Phillips led ViaWest to realign its business strategy to focus on delivering Hybrid IT Solutions that seamlessly connect on-site, virtual and off-site infrastructure. As part of this, she negotiated the acquisitions of AppliedTrust and INetU, launched ViaWest’s Cloud Recovery – DRaaS solution, forged partnerships with Microsoft Azure and Console, helped Shaw Communications open a state-of-the-art data center in Calgary, Alberta (powered by ViaWest) and officially opened ViaWest’s 138,000 square-foot Brookwood Data Center in Oregon.
“Each year we think the quality of achievements portrayed in Stevie-winning nominations couldn’t possibly get any better, and each year the amazing women who are recognized in this program prove us wrong,” said Michael Gallagher, Stevie Awards Founder and President. “We are thrilled and humbled to be able to recognize so many outstanding women in the Stevie Awards for Women in Business, and to share the stories of their achievement with the world.”
The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are the world’s top honors for female entrepreneurs, executives, employees and the organizations they run. All individuals and organizations worldwide are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small. The 2016 awards received entries from 31 nations and territories.
“It is an honor to be selected as a winner in such a competitive award. As a strong proponent for diversity in the workplace, it’s also incredibly inspiring to hear about the powerful women represented in the more than 1,400 nominations that were submitted to the Stevie Women in Business competition this year,” said Phillips. “Diversity in the business world makes our companies and communities stronger, and ViaWest is happy to be a part of that growth.”
