beIN Sports’ Weekend Programming Continues to Outdeliver Against Competing Sports Networks

MIAMI--()--beIN SPORTS, the international sports network, continues to surpass ratings of the English Premiere League with coverage of La Liga, Spain’s prestigious soccer league, across both English and Spanish language cable networks. According to Nielsen media research, since the start of the 2015-16 season, La Liga’s Real Madrid and Barcelona matches delivered an average of 617,000 total viewers across both beIN SPORTS and beIN SPORTS en Español, averaging higher than the English Premier League’s average of 543,000 total viewers across both NBC Sports and NBC Universo.

beIN SPORTS also saw continued soccer ratings success with the airing of popular International Friendlies. On September 5th, the match between Brazil and Costa Rica on beIN SPORTS en Español outdelivered European Qualifier, Spain vs Slovakia on ESPN Deportes. beIN SPORTS en Español delivered an average of 107,000 total viewers beating ESPN Deportes’ average audience of 100,000.

Original content complemented by beIN SPORTS’ star-studded talent and analysts has proven to be a successful formula for sports fans. This past weekend, ratings for beIN SPORTS en Español’s Studio Show, “Express XTRA,” topped competing Spanish language sports network studio shows, reaching an average of 88,000 total viewers. The top studio telecasts over the weekend included “Contacto Deportivo” on Univision Deportes, which delivered an average of 83,000 total viewers, “Central Fox Weekend” delivered an average of 79,000 total viewers on Fox Deportes, while “La Ultima Palabra” delivered a total audience of 86,000 on Fox Deportes, and “Sports Center Late” reached an average of 46,000 total viewers on ESPN Deportes.
