Inventors, Entrepreneurs, Startups and Idea People are Invited to Pitch Their Ideas for a Chance to Secure Investment Funding

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--()--Edison Nation, an innovation marketplace that helps inventors bring their ideas to market and Enventys, a full-service product development firm, along with AKT IP Ventures, an incubator and operator of emerging IP-based businesses, will host a Pitch Day on Tuesday, May 5, to uncover the next great idea for the creation of an app-enabled device, mobile app concept or Internet of Things innovation. Inventors, entrepreneurs, startups and idea people are invited to pitch their best ideas to a panel of judges, beginning at 10:00 AM at 520 Elliot Street in Charlotte, NC.

“We love what Edison Nation has done to keep consumer-driven innovation thriving and we are thrilled to be partnering with them for this event”

Edison Nation, Enventys and AKT IP Ventures are looking for great ideas to invest in, incubate and commercialize. Selected ideas will be transformed into sustainable businesses and their creators will receive a competitive royalty or equity structure in the new venture. Every participant will be allotted 15 minutes to privately pitch his or her idea to a panel anchored by Louis Foreman, CEO of Edison Nation and Enventys, and Nicolas Chaillan, CEO of AKT IP Ventures and successful serial entrepreneur.

“Edison Nation exists to give inventors the opportunities and the resources they need to commercialize ideas that might not otherwise leave the conceptual stage,” says Louis Foreman, CEO of Edison Nation and Enventys. “Our partnership with AKT IP Ventures is a natural extension of what we do every day and allows us to help innovators on a different level, particularly in this exciting area of software development.”

In late March, AKT IP Ventures launched a targeted $20 million fund aimed at building companies around technology and ideas that are backed by intellectual property. The fund is focusing on products in the mobile, multi-touch, wearables, Internet of Things, big data and medical technology sectors.

“We love what Edison Nation has done to keep consumer-driven innovation thriving and we are thrilled to be partnering with them for this event,” says Nicolas Chaillan, CEO of AKT IP Ventures. “AKT IP Venture’s model is centered on turning great ideas into tangible assets and opportunities like this, help inventors see that there is another path for capitalizing on their ideas.”

Space will be limited and all interested parties must register to attend. Please visit www.edisonnation.com/pitchday for more information.

Registration will close on Monday, April 27, 2015.
