Boyden’s Leadership Series Features Perrigo’s Jaclyn Ahearne

DETROIT--()--Boyden, a global leader in executive search, today released a new issue of its Leadership Series, featuring an in-depth interview with Jaclyn Ahearne, Vice President of E-Commerce at Perrigo Company. Perrigo is the world's largest manufacturer of over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical products for the store brand market and an industry leader in pharma technologies.

“Perrigo’s recognition of her potential and Jaclyn’s courage and willingness to take some career risks along the way have been a great combination, resulting in her contributing tremendous value to the company.”

The Boyden Leadership Series edition also includes a sidebar discussion with Jeff Supina, Managing Partner of Boyden Chicago and Detroit, on bold leadership and taking measured risks.

In the interview, Ahearne discusses the 10 distinct management roles she’s held at the company, leading a startup within a major manufacturer, the power of e-commerce and Amazon, when to take a career risk, and why the leadership rules are different for women.

“Jaclyn is an example of what I refer to as a ‘good athlete’ who has capitalized on all the opportunities to serve in a variety of roles throughout her career,” said Supina. “Perrigo’s recognition of her potential and Jaclyn’s courage and willingness to take some career risks along the way have been a great combination, resulting in her contributing tremendous value to the company.”

Ahearne has been with Perrigo for 18 years. In her first role, in human resources, she was charged with managing and defining training for FDA compliance and leadership development. She then held leadership roles in supply chain for eight years, including plant management, master product scheduling and project management of new product launches. More recently she led efforts to shape Perrigo’s global IT strategy and technology investment portfolio for six years.

Ahearne has more than 25 years of healthcare experience, including eight years in the University of Michigan Health System. At Perrigo, she is now building an e-commerce division that includes both B2B and B2C sales channels for the U.S. and international marketplaces.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Michigan and an MBA from University of Notre Dame.
