Simonson's Salon and Spa is the MERRY to the Wounded Warrior's HOLIDAY

PLYMOUTH, Minn.--()--'Tis the season of giving and the Simonson’s Salon & Spa team in Plymouth has a big heart this year! Located off of HWY 55 & Fernbrook, Simonson’s Salon and Spa hosted MERRY MONDAY, a gift of beauty and wellness for the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). On Monday, December 1, 2014 over 30 Wounded Warriors and their caregivers from the greater Minneapolis area had a chance to “experience perpetual renewal” as they were pampered with complimentary salon and spa services.

“The Wounded Warriors Merry Monday event was a stellar success! Similar type events are destined to become treasured traditions here at Simonson’s. To GIVE...is to RECEIVE.”

The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) serves veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound, co-incident to their military service on or after September 11, 2001 and their families. The Simonson’s Salon & Spa Plymouth team’s spirit of generosity and authentic desire to share the healing power of touch, breathed new life into these wounded warriors and their caregivers. “The atmosphere of giving was felt by all and absorbed into these women. The Simonson’s technician’s enthusiasm and care were what really set the tone for the day. As always, the highlight for me is watching what happens when people give of themselves, learn to receive, connect with one another and find some encouragement and HOPE! Another real highlight was seeing these women connect to other spouses or female Warriors for the first time. That is really what WWP is all about. It is the most important Resource that we have to offer, connection to each other,” says Catherine Holte, Outreach Coordinator of the Wounded Warrior Project.

At Simonson's, being a leader in the community suggests going beyond offering services and products. It also means partnering with those whose goals and objectives reflect our purpose of improving the quality of human life. “I, along with my team, were all deeply touched by the outpouring of gratitude from the women who participated in Merry Monday. It was clear that they thoroughly enjoyed their services. The Wounded Warriors are the true hero’s and it was our pleasure to lift, honor and empower them with a day dedicated to making them feel special,” says Simonson’s Plymouth Manager, Sheena Loidolt.

MERRY MONDAY epitomes what the holiday season is all about - giving. “A day of pampering and to be loved by others is truly a gift!” said a member of WWP. Kyle Simonson, CEO, said “The Wounded Warriors Merry Monday event was a stellar success! Similar type events are destined to become treasured traditions here at Simonson’s. To GIVE...is to RECEIVE.”
