Victor Cruz Rounds up His Teammates, Top Brands and TV Networks to Host a Halloween Sports and Science Fair to Benefit Stem Education

NEW YORK--()--On Saturday, October 25th, The Victor Cruz Foundation, presented by Time Warner Cable, and in partnership with Chase and over a dozen other partners will transform Basketball City on Pier 36 in New York City into a dynamic and interactive Halloween-themed experience focused on sports and science education called HalloweenLand. Proceeds collected from ticket sales will benefit afterschool science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) programming at two Boys and Girls Clubs of America locations in the tri-state area.

With the support of some of my fellow teammates, friends, family, fans, our generous corporate sponsors and all HalloweenLand supporters, we will be able to help create and enhance hands-on STEM programming at two local Boys and Girls Clubs, including my childhood club in Paterson.”

Victor joined Time Warner Cable’s Connect a Million Minds (CAMM) initiative earlier this year to announce the company’s support of a new a new Do-It-Yourself (DIY) STEM program for Boys & Girls Clubs around the country. Through DIY STEM, students are introduced to the science of every day. Proceeds from Victor Cruz Foundation’s HalloweenLand will bring additional STEM programming to local clubs.

HalloweenLand guests will have an opportunity to practice their throw with Victor Cruz and teammates including Mark Herzlich and Julian Talley, shoot hoops with NBA star, NY Knick J.R. Smith and learn the science of sound with Sean Combs’ Revolt TV. Other activities include:

  • Chase Mission Main Street Grantee- Curious Jane mini-camp for hands-on design and crafty fun
  • NY Ranger hockey stations where guests can test their goal-scoring skills
  • FOX Sports 1 Sports Simulator Explore the art of sneaker design
  • Spooky movie makeup, pumpkin painting and children’s costume contest
  • EA’s gaming stations and more!
